Window Wonders is a community-created arts trail in Whitley Bay. Residents and local people create window displays turning the streets into an outdoor art gallery.
I live in the area and help to organise the event with two other local residents, Karen Nairstone and Cristina Armstrong. I am responsible for graphic design, marketing and social media.
For the inaugural event in 2020 we had 51 window displays and attracted an estimated 500 visitors. It was also featured in two local newspapers – The Journal and the Whitley Bay News Guardian. We had to miss 2021 due to COVID-19, but the 2022 and 2023 events went ahead. You can find out more on the Window Wonders website, Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
